Limited Oral Exam
When might my child need it?
Sometimes problems will occur in between regular dental check-ups. Typical issues can include chipped teeth and broken teeth, or some form of dental trauma, swollen or bleeding gums or tooth pain. A limited oral exam deals with the immediate problem and our dentist will concentrate purely on the tooth or area of the mouth which requires treatment.
Will Any Treatment Be Provided During Limited Oral Exam?
Once our kids dentist has diagnosed the problem then the appropriate dental treatment is likely to be given during the appointment. At the very least, we will make sure any pain or discomfort is immediately relieved and subsequent treatment plan is prescribed. It is not uncommon for this type of dental emergency to require additional procedures at a later date, depending on the complexity of the treatment plan.
If your child does need a limited dental exam due to some sort of dental trauma or accident, or if they are in pain, then please contact our dental office as soon as possible. We will be able to give you advice over the phone on how to deal with the problem until you can visit our clinic. We do make every effort to see patients in pain or discomfort on the same day wherever possible.
